Man arrested for running towards Queen Elizabeth II’s coffin | the world

London Police A man who tried to approach the coffin was arrested Queen Elizabeth II Last Friday night (16), at Westminster Hall.

According to “The Guardian” newspaper, the unnamed person managed to leave the line and cross the quarantine area to the coffin. Immediately, the guards at the scene stopped him and pushed him to the ground.

“At around 10pm on Friday, Parliamentary Command and Diplomatic Security officers detained a man in Westminster Hall following a disturbance. He was arrested for an offense under the Public Order Act and is currently in custody,” police said.

A Queen Elizabeth II died on September 8 at the age of 96.. The coffin rests on a purple sling, atop a plinth, draped with the royal standard, imperial crown and sceptre, symbols of the power of the British monarchy.

In London, thousands of people paid their last respects to the Queen at Westminster Hall, the oldest part of the British Parliament.

On Friday morning, a steady stream of subjects forced officials to shut down access for at least six hours to a multi-kilometer line where the wait for a coffin was nearly 14 hours.
