New footage of Titanic shows ‘amazing detail’

AAccording to OceanGate Expeditions, the company that shared the images, the new footage of the Titanic shows an “astonishing level of detail” with the highest resolution quality ever.

The 8K-quality video shared on Youtube is “the first of its kind,” according to the company. At this new resolution, the ship’s bow, port anchor, its largest chain and number one hull can be seen precisely. Also prominent is the name of anchor manufacturer Noah Hingley & Sons.

The detail was “exciting” for veteran diver Rory Golden, a member of OceanGate’s Titanic, who years later discovered “a new detail that wasn’t very clear in previous generations of camera technologies.”

According to Sky News, “one of the most striking clips shows one of the single-ended boilers that fell to the bottom of the sea when the Titanic split in two,” Rory said, “remarkably these are the single-ended boilers that were first discovered when the Titanic sank in 1985”.

You can see little changes in the wreckage from last year’s work in the images, which OceanGate reveals will be examined by experts to determine the ship’s rate of decay.

It should be remembered that on April 15, 1912, the Titanic sank after hitting an iceberg, resulting in the death of 1,500 people and sinking the ship to a depth of about four thousand meters on the Atlantic floor.
