Russia says more than 800 Ukrainian troops have died

The Russian Defense Ministry said Saturday (20) that Ukrainian forces have killed more than 800 people in the past 24 hours, including up to 20 American mercenaries.

“More than 100 militants, including 20 American mercenaries, were killed” in a Russian air force strike against positions of the nationalist Kraken organization and mercenaries in eastern Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, Russian defense spokesman General Igor Konashenkov said.

In his routine morning report, the general said another attack in the same region killed 130 Ukrainian soldiers, this time with more precision ground weapons.

Konashenkov pointed out that in Dnepropetrovsk, near the city of Velikomylovka, Russian tactical aviation “practically destroyed” the 110th Ukrainian Territorial Defense Battalion, causing more than 350 casualties, of which no fewer than 200 were killed.

According to a military spokesman, in the same region, Mykolaiv, more than 200 Ukrainian soldiers were killed by Russian artillery fire.

In addition, Konashenkov pointed out, the Ukrainian Air Force lost more than 200 personnel as a result of aerial missile attacks in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
